BACKGROUNDS WITH DRESS MY CRAFT SCORING BOARD

Hello Crafty Friends,
Navjot Gujral here with the first post of April 2019. Hope you all are doing great, enjoying doing crafting with DRESS MY CRAFT products. As all of you know that DMC already have a wide range of paper crafting tools, which are awesome and coming at amazing pocket friendly prices. So this time I am going to use a great tool which makes every crafter's life easier and add a little oomph to our projects – SCOARING BOARD. Scoring board is essentially plastic platforms with grooves in them that allow us to score our paper at pretty much any interval we want in order to fold paper a little easier. If you might be wondering, why you even want to score. Scoring paper before attempting to fold it stretches and breaks down some of the paper fibers. This makes folding easier and more accurate. Scoring before folding helps prevent crinkles, cracks and crooked folds. Scoring is a must for all coated papers. Simple folding will crack the surface leaving a messy finish.
Dress my craft score board comes with pre-measured lines with all basic measurements like 1/8th inch, 1/4th inch, 3/4th inch and 1 inch. It also has measurements in centimeters and inches both. The DMC scoreboard measures extra than 12 inches for easy placement of papers, allowing us to score up to a 12’’x12’’ sized piece of paper, with score lines spaced 1/8’’ apart. Along with this a beautiful scoring tool comes with a perfect place to store inside the score board only.
There are lots of templates there that allow you to create beautiful projects with scoring board, so they are much more useful than just allowing you to fold a paper in half. The score guide helps to create envelops, envelope boxes, explosion boxes, gift boxes and many more. To use the score board, line your paper along the straight edge. Run your bone folder along the desired pre-measured line to score the paper. A downward fold is called a Mountain Fold while an upward fold (makes a V) is called a Valley Fold. This tool is most handy when you have to make multiple score line down a piece of paper at once. Let us talk a little about another amazing product from Dress My Craft – Bone Folder. A bone folder is an inexpensive paper crafting tool, and a necessity when it comes to scoring our paper very smoothly. They are widely available at DMC and comes in many shapes and sizes. All DMC bone folders have a firm tip for creating score lines on paper. These can be used to flatten out the crease on your paper, creating the perfect folded edge without giving any impression.
Today I am here with three cards, made with the help of Dress My Craft Multipurpose Scoring Board illustrating very simple techniques. Not only I have scored my cards here, but along with that I have made all three backgrounds for my cards using DMC score board. These are really very easy and fun to make.

Let’s talk about first one. Little birds card. I have taken birds from teenie weenies motif sheet.

I have made few random lines to one layer of my card to break the monotony of blank paper. Sometimes it really can be a small thing that makes a big difference in our completed project, so don’t forget some of those basic techniques! Perfect background ready in minutes.

Time for second card. This one is really very royal kind.

For this one I have taken silver mirror cardstock and scored it. After that I just little emboss the each box from the backside to give cushion look.

Single sentiment strip and a ribbon complete my card. Isn’t a very easy way to make background without using any machines?

Move onto third and last happy card.

Oh!! I loved the outcome of this background made with score board.

Simple squares can add such a wonder, it is really very tempting.

I badly loved creating these backgrounds with DMC score board and got addicted too. So many ideas are still in mind, if I got the opportunity again will share those too. So this is all for today crafters. Hope this will inspire you. Try it and give your valuable suggestions in the comment box.
