It´s Silvana here in my debut in the Dress my craft blog. I´m so happy and excited to be sharing my work with all of you.
In this opportunity, I´m sharing a quick step by step to make these two adorable flat shaker cards using a lot of products from DMC. Every occasion is a good one to send a card with a few lines to a loved one, just saying hello or sending good thoughts and these cards are perfect for that. So let´s get started!
For the first card, I cut a background piece from the Dots and stripes collection pack that measures 4 1/8 * 5 ½ inches. I decided to use grey striped paper.
For the second one, I cut six ½ inches wide stripes from two different sheets from the same paper pack and then cut them in half. After that, I paste them in angle, alternating the colors, over a rectangle of paper cut with the Rectangle die family set. Cut the excess and it´s done!4
Then I cut an acetate sheet (it could be replaced for a transparency sheet) 1 inch bigger than the background piece. With the help of the multipurpose scoring board, I scored ½ inch from the four sides and put double sided adhesive tape in the four flaps made.
Remove the adhesive protector from three sides and paste into the back of the background piece. I filled the shaker with Hug me sequins mix and sealed the last flap.
Adhere both finished pieces to the front of two cards that measures 4 1/8 x 5 ½ inches.
To decorate the front of both cards, I fussy cut the cutest unicorns from the Magical unicorns motif sheets.
For the sentiment, I used the Capital Alphabet basic designer die with the Easy cuts Machine. In the first card I used Concrete grey cardstock and the light pink from the Pink family cardstock pack. These are amazing cardstock, with the perfect mat look and the perfect thickness and weight for cardmaking.
To finish the card I used a sentiment from the absolutely magical Transfer me sheet. This is a kind of sorcery that you definitely have to try. Simply cut, remove the plastic sheet, put water and let the magic happen. Amazing. Just simply amazing. It worked so well in the acetate sheet that you can think that is something written with some pen or even a stamp with a good ink.
And that´s all for now. I hope you enjoy this quick tutorial and inspire you to make some cards.
Have a wonderful day!
Silvana
