Shadow Box with Precious Baby Boy paper pack + a Tutorial

Hello Crafty folks!!!

Manu here and I have a cute shadow box to share with you all today, but before that.. lets remember the CHA times.... !
DMC has been to CHA!! What a wonderful show!! I'm so glad to have been associated with Dress My Craft which has also marked it's baby steps to an international market and here's wishing the owners a big big congratulations to have made it BIGGG Internationally!! I'm sure it must have been an exhilarating experience and you all must have been glued at your mobiles/laptops at whiles inquisitive of what Shalini and Team would be showcasing in the Live videos!! So much for the technology that you can see anything, anywhere!! Wow.. truly an experience in it's own.

Dress My Craft launched their two absolutely adorable paper packs, Precious Baby boy and Charming Baby Girl at CHA, and these two are a total must have paper packs for all those baby albums/creations of your's!! I so wanted to make an baby album with this, but I saved it for the later!! I made a Shadow Box with Precious Baby boy paper pack and also have a little tutorial on how I made this one!! Lets look at the process!! I will be having lots of tips and techniques that I follow along the away! These are majorly my experiences !!
Here's what I made, this paper pack is too amazing with blue being the main color palette and teaming with the blues are the yellows and browns!

Lots and lots of embellishments from the motif pack is what made this shadow box absolutely adorable!

Lets start with how I made this one.

1. Take a raw shadow box and gesso it, I used white gesso. Once done, let it to dry.  I picked up the white because the white color compliments baby projects very well.
So that's Tip 1: Doing a baby project?? Choose whites or either pastel tones, these tones gel very good with baby themed papers.

2. While the shadow box is drying, choose papers from the Precious Baby boy pack and the motif sheet. I already had fussy cut the motif sheet, hence it's almost half in the picture above. You can catch some glimpses of the fussy cut images at the extreme top left. Here's another tip!!

Tip 2: When you fussy cut the images, make sure to leave a little margin while cutting from the image boundary, this has 2 benefits , 1) chances of cutting over the boundary reduces 2) The images looks more like a die-cut image .. I like a little 1 mm gap!!

 3.   Now cut the pattern paper as per the dimensions of the shadow box. and distress them, here's another tip

Tips 3: Always distress the pattern papers to be adhered, it gives a little more nice feel to the complete project ! The edges seems complete in this way!

4. Adhere the pattern paper onto the box with Mod Podge, yes, Mod Podge is the best sealent and works wonders ! It also comes in various finishes and I used the Satin one to give a little sheen to my project.
Next comes the best part, Embellishing your project, sky is the limit when you do this.

Here is the final finished shadow box!

Here are some more pictures from various angles of the baby shadow box! I couldn't stop taking pics are each and every angle and would want you also to go through the details !!

I'm completely in awe of the motif sheets with this Precious baby boy paper pack and it has some very cute vintage themed baby related images!
Did you see the little circle shaker that I did with the cute elephant inside??

Checkout the Rainbow Glitter on the flowers, a little glitter is always welcome!!

The bottom two partitions acts as photo holders !

The gorgeous laces and beautiful blue color chain does enhances the complete look of the box!

To add a little extra oomp, I took a recently launched Mudra chipzeb and dabbed it with the versafine embossing ink and then sprinkled the Rainbow glitter on top!! How cool is this technique to make some glittery projects?? I have used a couple of more chipzeb in this shadow box!

I hope you liked the project and would want to grab these gorgeous papers right off the shelves now!! Go grab these!! I'm completely in awe of how this shadow box tuned out to be, it's more of a dreamy kinda one!!
