Floral symphony canvas

 Hello everyone,

how are you all doing?. "Floral symphony" is the brand new paper pad launched during crafty feats and its absolutely gorgeous and to die for.The pastel shades and most beautiful flowers in this collection just screams my name,like always its so versatile and can be used on any type of projects.I decided to make a round canvas featuring the beautiful girl as focal point,i have used lots of fussy cut flowers from the paper pad to decorate it.

Dress my craft - CHA projects

Hello friends,

kavitha here today to share  my projects specially made for CHA .I made four projects featuring each paper collection and stencils along with tons of other embellishments .I totally enjoyed working with DMC products,i tell you the paper quality is amazing and perfect for all mixed media projects.

So here is the first one using my favorite and our very first paper pad "Hydrangea lawns" .This paper is so beautiful and soft, purples are one of my favorite.I used a light background,created soft texture with modelling paste and vintage script stencils .Then created my layers using fussy cut elements from the paper pad.

The next layout is using "Teenie weenies" ,i love the warm colors of this paper pad,so i made a Autumn layout. For the background i have used  Fishnet stencils .All the flowers are from crafters corner and i have used sparkling dust on it

Next one i again a soft layout using "Dots n stripes" paper pad.The background is created with beautiful  Alphas stencil.I have used lots of Fashion accessories for embellishing .

And here is the final one,my most favorite from the four.Its not my usual style but love how it turned out(sorry for the poor pic,i took all these in hurry before sending).I totally love the Steampunk stencil and wanted to showcase it in a different way.So i used it as focal point and tried my best to decorate in a way it wont get covered.The canvas is painted with wax and decorated with  DMC fashion accessories and sequins

Space theme canvas + Tutorial

Hello crafty peeps,

kavitha here today.Hope you are enjoying the posts by our DT using the versatile Ice cubes,frosted powder and sparkling dust.Today i have a canvas to share made using ice cubes and frosted sugar powder.Oh boy i just love the texture they create,its just out of the world,so i decided to created a space theme canvas,hehe.

These powders are not just for decorating flowers or stamped images,the possibilities with these are endless in mixed media,hope you have checked out the art recipes by Bipasha ,mixing them with different paste and paints gives different textures and effect.I mixed the frosted sugar powder and ice cubes with light paste.

Here is some process pictures.After a coat of gesso to my canvas,i applied a very thick layer of light paste with knife,and sprinkled frosted sugar powder and ice cubes  while the paste is still wet.I applied the paste randomly,in different thickness to add some dimension.

I used dylusion sprays to color my canvas.

Finally i splattered lots of white paint to get the galaxy effect.

Finally decorated the canvas with some die cut and wooden embellishments.

Mixed media canvas using Sparkling dust

Hello friends,

The sparkle and shine continues this month also at DMC blog,our team is showcasing sparkling dust,ice cubes and frosted powder this month.So here i am with my mixed media take on these lovely products,to be frank i dont like too much of glitters or shine on my projects,even if i add i keep it minimum and my choice is always the one which gives subtle shine and shimmer.DMC powders are just that type and i just love them

For the center frame i have used sparkling dust .I just gave a thin coat of glossy accent and sprinkled some of them,oh the shine they give is really awesome especially when you expose it to light.Sparkling dust is very fine powder and can be used to jazz up stamped/printed images,die cuts and to create glittery backgrounds.

I have also used some sequins as toppers(actually i coulndt stop using them these days,hehe),i randomly applied gel medium all over the canvas and sprinkled sequins and frosted sugar powder.
Frosted sugar powders are quiet grainy and add amazing texture and shine.Can you see the snow like texture on the white areas of the canvas?those are frosted powders and i applied a bit of white gesso over them to minimize the shine and to look more textured.
