The Circle of Love - Accordion Gift Box

Dear Friends,
Shalini Pahwa here today,In today's trying times, I am consistently reminded of these golden words written by Anne Frank : "I don’t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains".

Today, when we are in the midst of the greatest challenge that the world has ever faced, we all should strive to do something special for everyone around us. We may not be able to change the world, but we can all make an effort to spread love and kindness, so that we imbibe a feeling of oneness in all inhabitants of this beautiful earth irrespective of race, color, creed or religion.

The festival season is around the corner. The festivities may be muted this year, but our outpouring of love and care should know no bounds.

Today I present a beautiful gift which I have designed with the same spirit of love and festivities in mind. I have called it "The circle of love". It is a circular accordion box which has six small triangular boxes to gift chocolates and candies to people you care for.

To make the triangular box, take a pattern paper. I have used pattern paper of size 7.25"x9.5"from Sweet Treat Paper Collection of 'Dress my Craft'. Score the pattern paper at .5", 3.5", 6.5" at longer side(9.5") and 2.625", 4.75" on the other side(7.25") as shown in below pics.
Fold the paper at the scored position  to make a triangular box. Make 6 such triangular boxes.
Take a pattern paper of size 2"x10.5" from "Sweet Treat paper Collection of Dress My Craft and score at 3.125", 6.25" 9.375"as shown. Fold the paper strip on the scored position to make a hexagonal edged circle. Make two such strips.
Paste the triangular boxes on the hexagonal circular strip.

To make box closure I have used a magnet which is then covered by an element made from using circular punch of Dress My Craft.
The accordion box is then decorated using motifs from the Dress My Craft-"Sweet Treat Motif Sheet" along with some sentiments and flowers made from Dress My Craft- Five Petal Flower Die. Use of glitter gives the box a festive look. The top of the accordion box is then finished using a shaker element and cut-out of motifs.

The top edges are decorated with paper lace made using Crochet Lace Border Die of Dress My Craft.

Fill the triangular boxes with candies and hand-made chocolates and present to someone you care about and see them gloat with pride and love.

I am sure you would love and enjoy making such a box. Do let me know your comments or queries if any.

Have A Great Day!!!

Mini-Moo Baby Album

Dear friends

Shalini Pahwa here today,A new baby in the house always brings cheer to the whole family. The homecoming of the little one, baby's first cry, first word, first step, lullabies, baby's feeding sessions – every small incidence of the new born is a memory parents cherish throughout their lives. So let’s celebrate this best year in a parent’s life by presenting a baby photo album 8"x8" - a collection of choicest moments and memories for a mother from her last days before delivering the bundle of joy to the baby's first birthday.

Inspired by the thoughtful pattern paper by Dress my Craft, called “Mini Moo Paper Collection” – a collection of neatly compiled baby theme papers, die-cut embellishments and sentiments to define the milestones for the first year of your little one. In fact, in order to create this handmade album or any other baby theme products like bags, baskets or baby party cards, this pattern paper collection has all the elements that you may require.

I have given this handmade album a lovely baby room theme with curtains made from the "Whispering Love" pattern paper. Besides the curtain, I have used shaker elements of Dress My Craft to create a base on which I have pasted a fussy-cut baby drawing. The word BABY also is from the Dress My Craft-Funky Alphabets Die. The lace on the curtain pelmet has also been made using Dress My Craft Crochet Lace Border Die.

Inside the album I have made separate sections of the mother's days before delivery, the baby's homecoming and each month's milestones of the cute little one. Each section used various elements also from Dress My Craft Mini Moo pattern paper and motif sheets.

I am sure you would like this album and use your own creative techniques to create something using this amazing product of Dress My Craft.

Would love to have your opinions on my creation.

Have A Great Day!!!
