The Dream Door-Home Decor

Shalini Pahwa here today with another inspiration for today. Every one of us would surely have dreams to chase. Before you can start working towards achieving your dreams, the first step is to believe in them. It is said that to get the right motivation for your dreams is to write them down and constantly see and visualize them.

To support you in continuously reminding you of your dreams so that you can follow it relentlessly, 'Dress My craft' has come up with a wonderful collection named 'Dream Door'. Using this awesome collection, I have designed my latest creation which I have called "The Dream Door".

'Dream Door' is a home decor item, which you can hang or keep at any place in your house. It carries sentiments to stimulate you to persistently follow your passions. You can pen down your desires & dreams on the 'Dream Door' in the spaces within the door. The sentiments attached to the door are also from the motif sheet of the "Dream Door" collection of DressMyCraft.

Altered Embroidery Hoop feat. Christmas Bells Collection

Today I have a festive altered embroidery hoop featuring the stunning Christmas Bells collection!

I started by painting the embroidery hoop white and adding snowflake paste.  Then I added some Dress My Craft Rainbow Glitter Chunks and Flower Pearls in Snow White to give the texture of snow.

I chose a sheet of paper from the Christmas Bells 12x12 Collection pack for the background of my hoop.  Then I took a different sheet of paper and die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Christmas Bells die.

I also made die cuts from the Reindeer with Christmas Tree and Foliage & Leaves #7 dies.

I decorated the hoop with some flowers and then added Flower Pearls in Green and Blossom with Green Sequins to them.

"Canvas Of Positivity" with Dress My Craft Pink Smoke Paper Collection

Dear Friends,

Shalini Pahwa here today,

What consumes your mind, controls your life. These beautiful words are my inspiration for this Mixed Media wall art today which I call “CANVAS OF POSITIVITY”

For me Positive thoughts are hallmark for positive actions. Once we start thinking in a particular way (and make sure we continue doing so), all our energies get channelized in a particular (positive) way. This keeps our mind stress free and we assimilate more, implement more and hence achieve more. But it is also our duty to broaden our perspective and inspire others by being the mirror to reflect positive thoughts. With this inspiration, I created this beautiful “CANVAS OF POSITIVITY”

The base of the canvas is created with lovely stack of pattern paper from the Pink Smoke Collection of Dress My Craft. On the base I have used paper from the collection and corrugated sheets, stencil using with texture paste to give layering effect.

Once my base is complete, I decorated the edges of the base with exquisite collection of embellishments, art stones and flower pearls beads.

On the base I have pasted fussy cut elements (flowers, leafs, vines, butterflies etc.) from Pink Smoke pattern paper collections and motif sheets of Dress My Craft. These elements are also layered to give the whole creation a 3-dimensional look.

The top is then further beautified with Blossom with Green Sequins, Crystal Ice Cubes, clear water droplets from Dress My Craft products.

The canvas is finished with inspirational sentiments fussy cut and pasted from motif sheets of Dress my Craft-Pink Smoke.

Hope this canvas inspires all of you to consider Life in a different and positive perspective. Hope you like this creation of mine and would try some of its elements in your own creation.
