Hi Friends

First of all a very Happy New Year to all of you, may you all have a creative year ahead ! Do you already know that DressMyCraft is going to CHA !! Yayyyyyy ! It's the first Indian brand to get launched at CHA, with our own booth, our design team's projects, beautiful products and very talented Shalini Mittal, its sure going to be a hit ! We all cant wait to see our projects displayed there and of course, all you readers would get a glimpse too, bittersweet wait ! :)

Now onto my post, I am using Dots and Stripes paper pad from DressMyCraft to create an accordion flip book measuring 6x6 inches. Look at the pics below on how the papers have transformed the base Kraft Paper into something so exciting !

For my project I have created big die cuts with the dots and stripes papers and combined with embellishments to create mixed media pages.

Hydrangea lawns altered art

Hi Crafty Peeps !

I am here today to share my creation using the newly launched and absolutely enchanting paper pad from Dress My Craft - 'Hydrangea Lawns'. Its a beautiful collection of papers with my favorite color scheme in Blue and Lavender. There are a total of 12 unique designs , 2 of each,  which also includes some sentiments and a beautiful amalgamation of colors.

The place where I live currently in Washington, is blooming with Hygdrangeas and with the current month launch I was super excited to create , explore, play and finally take some pictures in the literal Hygrangea Lawns ! I decided to make this altered cup saucer with a faux waterfall and make it look like Hydrangea Lawn. Here is a brief video of my creation with pictures to follow

I clicked some pictures with real Hydrangea and trust me the paper flowers literally merged into real flowers, the design and texture of the papers bring so much of life into my creations that I could not stop thinking of the innumerable ways where I already plan to use them. They are perfect for Scrapbooking, card making, altered art, 3D art, mixed media, explosion boxes, dressers, envelopes, gift boxes, candy boxes and so much more.  These not to be missed Hydrangea Lawns paper pad can be found here , I am especially in love with the color theme that is also my current favorite :D

Textures with Floral exotica papers

Hi guys,

Hope you're doing great.

I am back with a new post with two different projects created using DMC floral exotica collection papers. The first one is a shabby chic tag and the second is a vintage layout.

The beautiful background of this tag is created using floral exotica papers with some shimmer sprays and inks. I have attached a few close up pictures of the yummy background below. I've used a resin frame with some mulbery flowers to decorate my tag. The background has a gold shimmer look blended with worn lipstick distress ink.

It is really fun to play with these papers.

I love the way this paper takes inks, smoothly blends and gives such a great result. You must have found some beautiful textures in my previous post as well but this one something really unique to try your hands on.

My second project is a vintage layout created using the same floral exotica papers with some inks giving vintage look.

Money wraps with floral exotica

Hey Creative Peeps !

If you have been following the posts from our talented DT members then you know we are showcasing the highly recommended papers from dress my craft this month. Floral Exotica and Floral Oriental are premium quality papers launched by dress my craft , they have superb water absorbing quality making them fit for any project that uses any sort of ink or color mediums. Floral exotica are more water absorbent than Floral Oriental , so your choice of paper would depend on how much blending of colors do you want or how well do u want to mould the paper, since oriental absorbs lesser water it becomes stiff compared to exotica.

Mixed media tags using Dress My Craft Floral Exotica & Floral Oriental Collection Paper

Hello my dear crafty friends,

Hope you all are doing good and enjoying and getting inspiration from Dress My Craft Design Team projects.. So here we are in July and this month we are focusing on Papers only. Yes!!
We all will be working with Floral Exotica & Floral Oriental Collection Paper.
This paper pack contains 10 sheets of 12x12 inch Premium White Card stock which are acid and lignin free. It is 280 gsm so it's quite think and can be used for various purpose.

                                

Well I have tried these for flower making, stamping, color blending and this is perfect paper for any kind of Card making, scrapbook, decoupage base, album making, backgrounds and Mixed media etc.

Today I am going to use them in mixed media. Yes I have a picture tutorial and you can find the video tutorial on Dress My Craft YouTube channel, I will only be showing how i used gesso and modelling paste on these papers and you will be amazed that due to the thickness both the papers are quite sturdy and you don't need to use and chipboard base for your tags. Well this is totally optional if you want to use or not. In my previous post of Mixed media Tags, I have used chipboard base for my paper, as that was a pattern paper having less gsm. But today I wanted to try without base as this will also let you know the quality of these papers.

It was totally a trial for me but I was amazed to see the effect of colors on these papers. It was amazing..

So let's see what I have created.

First we will start with Floral Exotica Collection. I am using the brush with rough tip so it creates beautiful stripes background with gesso. Then I used different stencils by Tim Holtz & Dusty Attic to make backgrounds on both the papers.

Similarly I did for Floral Oriental Paper. Due to it's thickness and good quality it will lie flat after heating it.

I used Heidi Swapp color shine spritz Hot Pink & Butter. Can you see how beautifully the colors have came out?

You can see the background effect of the brushed gesso and stencils...both are looking 

Now I am taking Leaf chipboard from Dusty Attic and I brushed that with Distress Crackle paint (Shabby Shutters). After heating up, it gives nice crackle effect on the chipboard.

Now I tied white thread on the tag and assembled it. After this I took some nice beautiful flowers that goes well with the theme and color and arranged the flower cluster.

This is Floral Oriental Collection and see the background effect.

I have used distress ink on the Leaf chipboard. I used Gathered Twigs distress ink as it was going very well with whole color theme of this tag.

And now you believe that we can use these papers for mixed media. The paper will not tear or fall apart despite of spraying water on to it for color blending. Well after making this, I must say that if you are a mixed media person then do try it and share your projects tagging me.

Mixed media Tags with DMC Frosted Sugar Powder and Crystal Ice cubes

Hey my dear crafty people..

How are you all doing? I hope you are having crafty fun, well I am having it as Delhi is drizzling and so am I. Those who live in Delhi can very well relate with me as these rains seems like Godsend in June's warm weather.

Well with this rain...Ice prompts into my mind...

You can guess right!
I am talking about Crystal Ice cubes..Such a unique product with so much versatility. I am sure many of you must be thinking what Can b done with them. I so very well agree with you but DMC DTs are coming up with so beautiful and creative projects with it that I hope reading their blog will definitely resolve your problem.

And along with Crystal Ice cubes, I will be using Frosted Sugar powder in my project as well. I have made Mixed media tags and you will see how you can use Ice cubes and frosted sugar powder to create beautiful backgrounds.

So first let's see what I have created. There will be lot's of images so that you can see the closer look of the effect.

Now you see how beautifully the texture is coming out.

So gals, are you aware of Sand texture paste? I hope most of you are aware of it. I will show you how to create sand textured background in case you don't have texture paste.
I have a video tutorial for this project but due to some technical issue, couldn't post it. Will share it soon on the blog and DMC youtube channel.

Meanwhile let's start with the written procedure,

I have used Bob n Betty cuddling cuties collection, and pasted it to the chipboard tags.
Then I have mixed Frosted Sugar powder with modelling paste, which came up as a rough texture paste and made the background using Tim Holtz Stencils.

Then I put modelling paste on the edges of the tag randomly...you just need to have control over your hands and then I pasted Crystal Ice cubes on to it. These Ice cubes sticks very well with the modelling paste so you can always mix them up in your mixed media projects.

 I used Frosted sugar paste on the upper half of the stencil and applied Clear crackle texture paste on the left over part to give variation to the background.

Then I sprayed Comic shimmer mist-Teal Wash randomly on the tag and little bit of Dylusion Paint-Dirty Martini , sprayed some water to let the colors flow. Dry it with heat gun and you will start seeing the crackle effect on the background.

I put glossy accent at some parts of tag edge  and sprayed sparkling dust and Frosted sugar powder to give more shimmery effect. And then I did embellishment.


Now in the next Tag, I again took cuddling cuties collection paper from bob n betty as I loved the pastel color splash effect on the background.

 I have taken the same paper scraps, distressed the edges and made backgrounds using stencils on it.
Then I layered them all..on the top of the main the main tag giving it more dimension. The different part of this tag is that I have used Distressed crackle-Shabby Shutter on the edges..I did it same way as i applied modeling paste on the edges in the previous tag. The difference is that here, I have used distressed crackle paint which gives a shabby distress edges  and sprinkle sparkling dust on it before it dried.

I have also used Mango Blush Cosmic shimmer mist. Do not spray directly to the base, I have sprinkle few droplets and move the flow it with water.

I used crystal ice cubes in the same way I used in the previous tags. Don't you think this just looks awesome?
I am loving the effect which came at last.

And similarly I did the last tag. The I have used Aqua Breeze Cosmic shimmer mist and Dusty attic acrylic paint-Cranberry in that and see how it came out.
