The Gift Back-Pack

Dear Friends,

Shalini Pahwa here today with beautiful Back Pack Gift Bag.Gifting is such a wonderful thing. A gift is a bridge that keeps the giver and receiver bond alive and fresh for years. And if you are giving a gift to someone you truly care for, you desire to see that joy and charm on your loved one's face on receiving it.

But the excitement of a gift is often not the gift itself, but the presentation. And nothing better than giving the gift in something you yourself have created.

Today, dear friends, I present to you an awe-inspiring gift box idea - 'The Gift Back Pack'. Made in the shape of a back pack, this stunning gift box has a good capacity and can be used for many gifting occasions - whether it is chocolates for Christmas/Diwali  or jewelry / trinkets for your friend's birthday or even your little ones birthday give-aways. The amazing gift box would surely be cherished by its receiver for many many years for its creativity and uniqueness.

I have created this wonderful box using "Whispering Love" pattern paper collection of Dress My Craft. The flowers that adorn this magnificent box has been made by using Curved Flower dies of Dress My Craft. I have also used motif sheet of Dress My Craft -"Whispering Love"  to fussy cut images, flower pearl and fairy mix sequins, acrylic chain, dotted heart border punch and add that extra humanely effect to the box. Handle and hook are all made with paper from the collection.

So in this troubled times when a microscopic organism has been causing menace across the world, let your creativity add that cheer that humanity needs at this hour. Let your loved ones feel awed by your gesture of care and love. Spread positive vibes with your dazzling creation in this times when negativity seems to overhaul the environs around you.

I am sure you would have liked my creation. I would welcome your comments and suggestions.

Have A Great day!!!

THE VINTAGE TEAPOT

Dear Friends

Shalini Pahwa here today, You would all agree with me that a mother’s love is unlike any other and this one-of-a-kind relationships can never be compared with anything in the world. A mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend. Mothers are like glue who hold the family together.

Today as I remember my creator, I wished to give her something of my own creation which she would cherish forever, I thought of creating an “Exotic Teapot’ out of the lovely" My Vintage Lady" range of pattern paper from ‘Dress My Craft’.

To create this ‘Vintage Teapot’, besides the Dress My Craft pattern paper, I have also used Three Petal Pointed Flower die of Dress My Craft  to create the lovely flowers which adorn the teapot. I have also used the My Vintage Lady motif sheet to fussy cut Foliage & Leaves dies of Dress My Craft Daisy Border Punch,to decorate my teapot.

In the ‘Vintage Teapot’ I placed a couple of chocolates and a few exotic tea bags that my Mom just loves. This I am sure would be a perfect way to say to her that I love her the most.

I hope you like my creation and would try something similar to create something for your mother.

Awaiting your comments and/or questions
 Have A Great Day!!!

FLORAL GARDEN with Dress My Craft Flower Making Dies and Soft Oriental Paper

Dear Friends

Shalini Pahwa here today...In this ‘Month of Love’ & the ‘Month of Spring’, I have created something that is very close to my heart – FLOWERS. I believe Flowers are God’s gift to this earth. As the famous French writer & poet Gerard De Nerval once said, “Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature.” They paint contrasting colors along the ground and bring joy to many. Their elegance and delicate touches have us all in awe and exhilaration. Flowers inspire us to ‘Open the bloom of your heart and become a gift of beauty to the world’.

To be frank I have been making flowers from paper since many many years. But the experience that I got last week in making these lovely flowers is just indescribable. This is because of the wonderful dies and truly exquisite papers of ‘Dress My Craft’ that I used in creating this breathtaking piece of art.

To make my ‘Floral Garden’ I created ‘Cherry Blossom’, ‘Rhododendron’ and ‘daisy’ flowers. To make these flowers I have used the dies of Dress My Craft. However the best part was the paper used to make these flowers – which is the best I have ever used in the past. It folds nicely, grooves evenly and gives that final lustrous and fresh look to the floral petals.

Besides the floral dies, I have also used floral beads of Dress My Craft & leaf die to create the intertwined leaves in my ‘Floral Garden’. To complete the Garden, I spread out my flowers on Dress My Craft Pattern Paper from Vintage Lady Paper collection, pasted cut out using ‘Background Dies’ of Dress My Craft and some lace elements using ‘Border Punch’ of Dress My Craft. Where there are such a lovely garden, birds can’t be far behind. So to complete my ‘Floral Garden’, I have done fussy cutting of birds from motif My Vintage Lady paper pad of Dress My Craft and pasted it. I also attached moss to complement the garden look. In the centre I created a space to paste a pic to someone who is as dear to you as mother nature to make my ‘Floral Garden’ more meaningful and an object of admiration.

Hope you liked my creation. Do let me have your comments.

Enjoy your lovely Spring Days…

"Sweet life" spring home decoration feat. Floral Symphony paper collection

Hello, my dear crafty friends!

Jasmina today again with you, sharing my first post for the month of February.

I have decorated a round wooden board and made a spring home decor. As you may already know, I love making flowers and this time was no exception. I have combined flowers from Floral Symphony Collection with flowers which I made with Soft Floral Oriental Collection.

I love making flowers because I can always color them accordingly to the papers I am using, and make in various sizes.

This time I decided to make different types of flowers, using different cutting die sets.

For these flowers I used Curved Flower die set. For the center, I used Pastel Thread Pollen in Pinkish Maroon color.

These flowers are made with Create a Flower die set. And for the center I used Drop Shape Wire Pollen 3- White and Micro Mini Thread Pollen- White.

These flowers, that remind me of daisies, are made with Six Petal Flower die set. For the center, I used Micro Mini Thread Pollen- Yellow.

I used Three Petal Pointed Flower die set to make small filler flowers and put them around the bigger flowers on the birdcage. For the center I used Drop Shape Wire Pollen 1 and 2- White.

I still think that with the combination of Soft Floral Oriental Collection and Groove Golf Tools, you can't go wrong.
